Calico arrived into Irish music with a sensational debut album entitled Celanova Square in 1998. The album was voted ‘Best New Album’ by the readers of Irish Music Magazine. Calico concentrated on blending original compositions with traditional Irish and Breton music and they quickly became critical favourites while establishing a very strong fan base worldwide.
